A4 Associates Transforms Project Management for NNPC
Working as an engineering and project management consultant for one of the largest, if not the largest, oil and gas companies can be a real grind, especially when it is owned by the government. However, that was the situation for A4 Associates Limited as they managed several projects for their client, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), with several contractors.
It is a lucrative job but one that also comes with a high level of responsibility to ensure the projects which are monitored by the public eye are carried out perfectly in the most cost-effective way possible. Delivering this expectation simply means that A4 Associates team must be on top of their game, ensuring no loose ends and adequately and promptly keeping their principal in the loop of the slightest development. What they believed was impossible became possible through a customized Enterprise Management Application built on Microsoft Power Apps for them.
Previously, A4 Associates had to send field agents to track progress manually, but our solution simplified the process by creating a canvas application optimized for mobile view. This application enables field agents to take a record of the progress made at the project site, record pictures, and make a checklist of milestones. Reports are then uploaded and submitted to the on-site project manager, who receives updates through the model-driven application we also built on Power Apps.
Data is stored in the Microsoft Dataverse and shared with the NNPC team, providing a holistic view of all their projects through a Power BI dashboard integrated with the model-driven application.
Through the deployment of this application, A4 Associates recorded a more efficient project and report management process with streamlined communication between stakeholders. With the integration of Power BI to the solution, the client also gained robust capabilities by gaining better insight into the progress of projects through visually driven data reporting.
